PepsiCo will close two Frito-Lay facilities in Orlando as the company trims its snacks footprint in a softer market, as Nicole Schlosser reports for Powder & Bulk Solids.
A state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) filing shows manufacturing and an adjacent warehouse on Silver Star Road halted operations on November 4, affecting 454 employees, while a separate warehouse with 46 employees will close on May 9, 2026.
PepsiCo Foods U.S. said the decision reflects shifting business needs and follows other network adjustments this year. The move comes as large branded snack makers report weakened consumer demand for snack foods in the US, with PepsiCo citing slower volumes and heavier promotions after years of price increases; analysts and trade outlets have flagged a broader category slowdown.
